Os Verdes asks for the support of the The Global Greens, for their struggle against the Portuguese National Programme on Dams with High Hydroelectric Potential and asks for more investment in public transports, more affordable and available and thus a true alternative to private cars; Also to support the struggle of the Portuguese Green Party, as well as the several NGO's of environment, heritage and regional development in: revitalizing the Tua's, Corgo and Tâmega railways in the Portuguese North-East; its use as a regional development factor; Ask for extend it to Spain; To stop the construction of the Tua Dam.

A terrifying crackdown has begun on a scale never seen before in Tibet, in the full glare of the world's attention just months before the Olympics in Beijing.

Green Policies to Solve the World Food Crisis

Project Abstract: 
Enough wholesome food for all is high on the political agenda, since food prices skyrocket worldwide. Many factors have contributed to the current food crisis. Liberalisation of trade in food, speculation with growing volatility of supply, climate change effects like droughts and floods, but also the current boom of investments in agro-fuels have provoked a serious destabilisation of farming, allocation of food and feed production and growing hunger.
