Post-Kyoto

Greens' Post-Kyoto Protocol Agenda

The Kyoto Protocol on climate change finishes in 2012. Negotiations for the global regime to follow the Kyoto Protocol are well underway and due to be completed by the end of 2009. What are the important demands which the Greens should be making in these negotiations and how can we coordinate our efforts to get the best outcome for the Earth, for humanity and for nature. The Greens Bali Declaration is a starting point. Please add your comments and ideas.

Emission reduction targets

Project Abstract:
We (ECOLO JAPAN) http://lp.jiyu.net/ecolo-eng.htm as Green think tank will submit the following statement for 21 point action plan but at the same time, we would like to suggest that its contents be included and considered in the plenary session as well. Since developed countries—with their drastically higher per-capita emissions in comparison to their developing counterparts—are largely responsible for the problem, they should hold themselves responsible to initiate measures to receive the emissions cut. To clarify each nation’s responsibility, the agreement should be based upon identifying the related principle of “shared but differentiated responsibilities”.
