I consider a great, and serious, blank according to the issues pointed below: 1 – oceans have a primary role on the temperature settling and on the Earth’s carbon balance. The consideration of this liquid frontier, which covers almost 70% of The Earth’s surface, generally distant from daily life activities of humans that live in cities spread in inner continental areas, can’t be forgotten considering climate changes and global events; 2 – oceans still behave themselves as final receiver of the highest number of liquid effluents and solid residues produced by cities, Agriculture and cattle-breeding activities and Earth’s industries; 3 – most of the world’s cities, metropolis and megalopolis are situated in costal zones. All activities developed there influence directly the coastal ecosystems – terrestrial, transition and marine – and repercute on the services qualities and natural resources assured by them; 4 – the coastal zones – transitional region between oceans and continental areas – show the highest rates of diversity and biological production of the world. As well as a great number of endemic species (species that occur only in these regions);

The Global Greens should refrain from addressing Indigenous people as an issue or topic alongside food security, energy, biodiversity, etc.

I suggest that we propose to the UN that they establish an Environmental Council with similar powers as the Security Council has but with a different process for selecting members.

We suggest that Greens should demand our government and United Nations that they improve international law and other legal systems to prevent increase of so-called “environmental refugees” as well as the violation of human rights (human trafficking etc. ) of individuals displaced by climate change.

“A new treaty between young and old” We, the European Network Green Seniors (ENGS), will write “A new treaty between young and old” instead of the slogan „Better that you look after yourselves“ The whole world is growing older and older. But the resources are smaller and smaller. We would like to discuss with all generations and Greens around the world, how we can create and manage a kind of binding law for a new treaty between young and old in the countries, which is suable. It is not only a question of financing the retirement insurance. It is a question, how to make sure, that governments and states decline their responsibility, to take care for the life quality of all generations. A new generation contract does not only imply old age care. It also implies · The right to participation (e.g. voting rights for young people) · The right to prevention and promotion of health instead of a “medical repair philosophy” · The right to education for all generations · The right to work for all generations · The right to equality between women and men · The right to justice among the generations (i.e. no discrimination of young and old, etc.) Be aware: we fight for the future of everyone.
