This conference resolves to place management and conservation of oceans and coastal areas as a high priority for global greens campaigning:

We call for mobilization of populations to put pressure on governments to Increase the political will for the following steps to be taken for management and conservation of oceans and coastal areas.

1. MANAGEMENT

We call for campaigns that seek to
• Improve coastal protection legislation and their actual implementation, in order to stop predatory actions and activities in endangered ecosystems.
• Reduce industrial agriculture and promote organic agriculture, in order to avoid pollution caused by nutrients and pesticides.
• Exchange information from observational studies and inventories regarding climate change impacts between countries.
• Promote integrated coastal management and education for the sustainable use of fisheries
• Encourage research for clean energy
• Promote green labeling of sea products.
• Implement international regimes requiring large fleets to respect territorial and international seas
• Promote sustainable use of living and non-living marine resources through integrated policies for coordinating activities of fishing, large scale industrial activities such as oil exploration, military activities and others

2. CONSERVATION

We call for campaigns that seek to
• Develop improved planning tools in coastal areas
• Reject the use of oceans for dumping of liquid and solid waste and nuclear testing.
• Promote conservation areas
• Promote aquaculture which protects ecosystems and coastal rights, and respects local knowledge.
• Promote policies in rich industrial countries to assist climate crisis refugees
• Promote policies of Governments that provide financial needs for biodiversity conservation.
